Using Instagram

See this Forbes article which features Celinne Da Costa is an international life design and story coach story on how she used Instagram to grow her business.

Da Costa writes:

I started to take my Instagram account seriously in the beginning of 2016, after I realized that people were making money from it. I developed a content strategy and began carefully curating my content, trading in the selfies and oversimplified emoji captions for highly visual and professional images that involved travel, lifestyle, and design, as well as captions that focused on storytelling. Visual cohesion and a compelling tone of voice are extremely important when it comes to creating a successful Instagram account.
I built my personal brand by positioning myself as a marketing and brand strategist, photographer, and graphic designer. As my Instagram grew, I began to get inquiries via email and Direct Message from companies who found me through the platform or my blog and were interested in my work. Clients also found me through my use of hashtags, geotags, user recommendations, the Explore page, comments on similar user’s pages, and interaction with their content.

Thinking of your platform or purpose in Online Entrepreneurship

https___blogs-images.forbes.com_celinnedacosta_files_2018_09_DSC07405-3-1200x800In the month of July I had the opportunity to work with Paul Thomson who taught me about online courses and helped me in building a theme or area that would suit the work I do. This does not have to be hard. This should be in an area you feel strong or confident in.

He writes about what drove his purpose, and desire to teach in different platforms such as online and technology,

During these years, I was a passionate advocate of integrating technology into the classroom. The education system felt outdated, with teachers writing notes on the board and making students copy them down into their books. I was focused on helping my fellow teachers create educational experiences in a scalable format, and did so by speaking at events, writing education tech articles, and becoming one of Microsoft’s Innovative Educators. By facilitating the work of other teachers, I was able to improve the educational experience for more students.

Take a look at his story and how he moved ahead to become a huge support in the online entrepreneur community, and his story of success which gives pointers, and suggestions in going forward and moving your work in the area of online entrepreneurship.

The reason I am primarily interested in the work here which Paul speaks about, is the many opportunities that can exist in platforms that have been shunned by the mainstream as viable options for those who may be balancing many things on their plate.  It is actually quite amazing the amount of negativity which social media does receive and online learning though, when you think about the simplicity of online platforms for learning, there are ways to create a personal tone online, if that is a criticism against learning online. Being online is another method, and another option. Additionally, there are many reasons why online entrepreneurship can support your lifestyle, and where you need or want to be.

Indigenous Knowledge Conference, November 13-14, 2018.

beSuperior Consulting operates out of Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada.

Being located in the north end of Ontario, means that offering an Indigenous Knowledge Conference here provides a unique opportunity for Education Directors, Health Directors, Entrepreneurs, Educators, Leadership and Chiefs and Delegates, Frontline Workers in all sectors, Elders, and youth and Professional Staff to come together for two days, to have a unique opportunity to experience What Indigenous Knowledge is. While  a conference setting is perhaps limiting as it is not on the Land, beSuperior wants to bring people together still, to think, remember, experience and show support for Indigenous Knowledge and the ones who truly ignite and work in this field often with little or no support.

The purpose of coming together is to build a place where connections can happen. What happens in events such as this is good for the spirit and good energy, it is also a place of transformation, change and new experiences.

Over the past two conferences as it was decided these would be offered twice a year, opportunities to bring together people where old and new ideas have shifted.

I envision a time where this knowledge is offered to all learners where all learners including my children and your children will know that we are holding space for them. Where it is okay and honoured to share without judgement with the intent of claiming, doing, believing and being ok with knowing this is a very old and sacred space.

As visionaries and writers we have been holding space for a long time. Having opportunities to share our insight deeply and carefully shows our tenacious love. Love is what keeps us doing what we do each day, from the early morning to the evening, and everything in between.

Details still coming.

#Approvals #Gifts #Worth #SelfWorth

Being  courageous is hard enough in a world that sets judgement calls on how you look, what you wear, who your are and possibly sends messages about your value. Remembering that your self worth is your everything.

Remembering our role as teachers and leaders that everyone has a space and needs to be respected for their individuality.

Writing a Compelling Sales Pitch

We write a sales pitch to our best friends.

According to the statistics across the nation, Indigenous children make up the highest percentages of a growing demographic across Canada. In some cities, this means it is our children who are fastest growing demographic.  What that means is what sources or resources, or entry points are there to help not only our children but ourselves, move forward into a pathway of light, innovation and prosperity. While we know about the negatives, we strive to have a peaceful place. That home. That energy of love and light. Community and belonging.  This is not some far off thought. This is truth.

Yesterday when I sat with a group of moms, the themes that came up were,

-We want the best for our children

-We feel language programming in our Indigenous Language or an Indigenous Language would serve our children in a deep healing and supportive way, though it is not happening. What would and could make that happen? We do know models that work.

-We know we deal with racism and feeling safe in most aspects of our live, racism is tiring, though something we don’t want to use as an excuse but something we want to be seen as a real lived experience. What and how to create safety and mentor positive relationships?

-Safety knowledge is different for us when we leave our homes to the cities, and the friendships we also build are very unique, to other moms,

-We know that education starts and stays with us as knowledge keepers of our culture and communities, which becomes very difficult in a city and with new relationships to make with classroom teachers, principals etc.

-We know that our communities may thrive and our kids may thrive off better back home in our communities, though we are in the cities for work, for school, for health.

-We do feel we lack connectedness to resources.

-We feel compelled to show leadership to our children in our many amazing fields of knowledge bases. We are teaching our children many amazing things thanks to help as well from the frontline workers who are acting too like family to our families.

-We carry within us strengths.

-We’d like to be able to build upon those strengths in places where we can be mentored.

There are many more stories here. When I sat with the women, I shared my own stories as well. Like constellations of some distant star, we mapped out our stories in a short visit.  There certainly was time for more.

Writing a compelling sales pitch is about spending time with those stories that sit close to your heart. It is about exposing your vulnerable truth. That is by the way your gift. It is then finding your tribe.

The one thing I learned a long time ago: deep sharing and sharing about our lives is not ego driven, or egotistical. Deep sharing or even sharing in general is a way we identify ourselves. When we can talk about vulnerable issues without even thinking they are vulnerable we are moving past ego. We are shifting a mindset that has been blocking us, our relationships, even our own view. We are moving into a mindset that serves to help, to build, and to ignite.

The answers really do lay within us.

We only turn to books and research to verify what we already know. Books are amazing things that we should all be writing too.

Carrying a gift is really something we need to honour. We know that because our Elders tell us that. Understanding what our true north is and believing in that, is something all of us wake up to do each day. We also know what is within us, and what makes us feel inspired.

What you love to do may not be expressed on paper. Finding what you love to do is about aligning your heart to your mind. This is your sales pitch. That story there which you dream about and know about because it feels like your voice is parallel to the other voices who also speak, or express that same vibe.

Some of us have to remember those “omg yes” experiences to remember that is your passion. Your kindred moment.

That is your sales pitch.  That place that warms your heart.
